Life of a Mediocre

A mediocre is a person who doubts his decisions. He is another cog in the wheel. And the world forms the similar opinion about him. An achiever is confident of his words and decisions. And the world forms similar opinion about him.

A mediocre makes compromises everyday. I am doing this, is it right? I am thinking to do that, what will be the outcome? Will the people appreciate it? One loses the ability to make decisions, and develops a tendency to continue doing the routine job. He makes constant efforts to bring perfection to the routine job, as it is a human characteristic to prove one’s metal. Of course, a pondering issue is where to apply effort for maximum leverage.

I was reading Swami Vivekananda a few days back, he philosophy was so fundamental and obvious. He said one should respect one’s parents and wife and ensure that they are satisfied and happy with you. Further he added that a person should follow his heart, including the desire to earn money, as it is equally relevant for societal welfare as any social action, but only after keeping parents and wife in good faith. So true and logical! Being a leader means having faith on oneself, understanding and enacting on the fundamental logics. In fact, fundamental things should be an integral part of life, not like each time I listen something, I ask myself, is it aligned to the fundamental?

A basic difference between, an achiever and a mediocre during a conversation is that, an achiever tries to build up his arguments keeping in mind that they are coherent with the basic logics, while a mediocre put up a popular, listened/read view, without giving much thought about his personal agreement or disagreement with it. Hence, whilst an achiever takes a stand while a mediocre just recites a popular view, and his stand is not firm. And this is how leaders and followers are born!
